Green and Dotty..

Having said in the last post that I didn't really like green....I have made another green card!

Part of starting this blog has been to challenge my creative talents and encourage me to use colours in new ways for me, to explore new ideas and learn new skills. I am already in awe of many of the blogs I have visited and the paper craft people are producing. I have so much to learn...but that is the reason for this journey into blog land....and so far I love the views.

I used my new MS Punch Scroll Lace.
The dotty card was embossed with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder.
Pearls are from Dovecraft.
The pearlescent paper and card are from Craftworks.
As usual ribbon & flowers are from my stash.

I would like to enter this card for the following challenges:
For Fun Challenge - Flower and sentiment in Centre.

Guylou's Challenge- I see Dots.

Gingerloft Challenge- Die cuts and or punches.

Digi Doodle Shop's best- Ribbon & Bows.

I'm a Shining Star....official!!!!

Having only started contributing to this blog consistently for the last month, I was amazed to have a card chosen by Stamping Sisters for their last challenge.
I can only thank them for their brilliant encouragement.

It's been a busy end to the week with my card class and counselling clients both yesterday and today.

I managed to finish this never ending card I started months ago.

The images are from a design by Sandra Kuck....aren't they gorgeous.

I left it as simple as possible and just added a few peeloffs from Starform sheet 1022.

I would like to add this card to the following challenges:
Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge #81 Something hidden from View.

Creative Card Crew-No stamps.

Fab n Funky-More than one Fold.

Crafts 4 eternity-Something Hidden.

Using a special Treasure....

I am loving the challenge of this blog and entering cards for challenges on other blogs. There are some extraordinarily talented people out there and I hesitate sometimes to add one of my cards....but we all have to start somewhere...and making cards gives me great pleasure.
This card was a challenge because I am not keen on green...I love it in Nature but it is not one of my faves....I don't think I have one item of green clothing in my wardrobe.

I used Cardstock from Paper Mill shop.
Backing Paper from some blog candy. The embossed card was done using my Big shot and a Cuttlebug folder. The Magnolia stamp is an old one...but still a favourite E840. I coloured the image with my new Promarker pens.
Finally my treasures are the fishes. I bought them from the Bead Store in Mevagissey in Cornwall with my Mum and sister Julia the week my wonderful Dad died. We sat on a bench overlooking the harbour crying from shock and grief but giving thanks for an exceptional Husband and Father.

I am entering the following challenges.
I love Promarkers #57 Men's Cards
Stamping Sisters in Christ Challenge- Treasure.
Fab 'n' Funky - Green.
Digi Doodle Shop's Best-Anything Goes.
For Fun Challenges-Green.
Creative Card Crew-Green.

Exciting times for Naomi.

The salon is coming together and from all the photos and video I have seen it looks beautiful. The gang of 3...my husband Terry, Naomi and her boyfriend Grant, have worked really hard. I think it will be another 2 weeks at least before Terry returns to Spain....but I am fine and coping well by myself.

The card class girls are making their first twisted easel card.

The pyramage is by Le Suh.
The peeloffs are Starform 1138, 844.
The backing paper and card is from my stash.
The flowers are from various suppliers including a wonderful lot I got from Ebay a couple of years ago!

I am entering it for the Gingerloft challenge 13.

I love my Promarkers!!

It's my Birthday on Saturday...possibly the first I have ever celebrated on my own as Terry is still in Torquay renovating Naomi's Beauty Salon. So, I thought I ought to spoil myself...so I have bought my first Promarkers...and they are lovely.
This is also my first Digi Download. I am going to let my ladies make this card in a few weeks time....only if they promise to look after my Promarkers though!!

I am entering this card for Digi Doodle challenge
using pearls.

I used Download from Beccy's place.
EK Success border punch.
Pearls and bling from Dovecraft.
Ribbon and card is from my stash.
I had great fun today playing on the computer and trying different fonts and layouts.
I am much happier with this text and the layout.

This is the other side.

And this is the finished card.

I used peel-off corners-Starform 1017.
Ink-Versa colour Cyan.
Flowers from assorted suppliers inc. Ebay and Prima.
Leaves punch L-EM.
Curly die cuts from Sissix 654749.
Backing paper and card blank from Stash.

Yesterday the waves were crashing on the beach and the walk with Chloe,(my loco Spanish rescue dog) was exhilarating...and freezing...but most enjoyable.

Thinking out of the Box.

Terry has now been in the UK for over 3 weeks. I am missing him but decided to spend the time praying, studying the Word....and making lots of cards.
I have found a wonderful site that sells stamps with scriptures on them for all occasions.
I need to sell a few more cards in order to buy some...and pay the postage from the USA so I decided to get out of my box and play with fonts etc. This is my first version...I am not totally happy with it....but as I often say to friends and clients...it's the getting out of our comfort box which is the important part of our journey.

I used K & Company backing paper. The half pearls are from Dovecraft. The flowers are from various sources including Craft Creations and Ebay. I am entering this card for the Our Daily Bread Challenge ODBDSLC51 and the Off the Wall Craftiness Challenge. Sorry the photo is a little blurred.
